She has worked with the severely disabled through the Washington and Alaska public school systems.
In the late 1970's she trained in Therapeutic Touch (a nursing technique that uses the practitioners' hands to direct energy to promote healing) with the founders of the technique, Delores Krieger and Dora Kuntz. During the 1980's she taught this technique extensively for Hospice of the Piedmont and through community colleges in Virginia and Oregon.
Training in Reiki in the early 1980's, LaVonne studied several other 'hands-on' healing modalities that are less well known. She also spent a couple of years studying religions of the world and metaphysical science through Sancta Sophia Seminary, becoming certified as a Spiritual Teacher.
For the past twenty-two years LaVonne has been writing, editing, and up-dating Cognitive-Behavioral curriculum for Kaiser Permanente Health Education Department. Facilitating and teaching many of the classes as well as training others to teach.

Having experienced many allergies during her life, LaVonne also trained in NAET, an Allergy Elimination Treatment that uses Kinesiology and pressure points to test for and reduce allergy responses.
In 2010 LaVonne graduated with a Master's degree in Transpersonal Psychology.
Transpersonal recognizes:
That everything is interconnected ~
That we are all 'ONE' in this experience we call life.
We can not change another person's experience, but we can choose to change our own experience. By working on our own issues, we can begin to find peace in the world just by changing our own perspective and learning to preside in momentary mindfulness.
LaVonne's passion is in sharing what she has learned over the years with others. Whether it involves working with energy for healing and reducing pain, or whether it involves sharing her knowledge about tools and techniques that help you live a more productive, and meaningful life.
