Tai Chi ~ CosmoDynamics

CosmoDynamics, also known Tai Chi, draws its knowledge from the I-Ching and ancient Taoist practices. It is a "soft" Chinese martial art form and a means of cultivating the qi, or chi, in the body. Tai Chi originally stemmed from the ancient practice of qi gong, and consists of many qi gong movements, and it evolved to a distinct and separate martial art form. It incorporates movements that are used as a form of relaxation and to teach control of every part of the body. The movements practiced are slow and steady, and students will focus on developing control and form.

The health benefits of regular practice include:

Practitioners studying CosmoDynamics will achieve better conditioning for the body and more importantly, develop a sense of internal calm. It is to learn to synchronize with the environment, to move with the dynamics of the cosmos. In using introspection, practitioners while bring together their inner strength and softness in the outside. It's about opening the mind and losing the structure.

Cost: $15 drop-in, $65 for 5 sessions, $110 for 10 sessions

Pranic Healing Clinic

Pranic Healing is a simple, powerful and effective no-touch energy healing technique. It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a "Self-healing" living entity that possesses the innate ability to heal itself. Pranic Healing works on the principle that the healing process is accelerated by increasing the life force or vital energy on the affected part of the physical body.

"Prana" is a Sanskrit work meaning "life force". It is the vital energy that keeps the body alive and maintains a state of good health. You are welcome to join us for a time of healing and meditation.

Please allow for the full two hours. We do a meditation together for healing the planet before we do healing practice. The healings are offered by students of Pranic Healing (students of all levels of experience are welcome).

Donations for rent accepted.

Meditate For Stress Relief

While stress relief can be achieved in many ways, meditation is one of the best.

India born, Vijay Wick, will facilitate this group sit, rather than a class, sessions. He has been meditating for 10 years, but admits that he is certainly "not there yet". All levels are welcome and instruction for beginners will be offered.

Sitting down to meditate is not for the purpose of achieving anything. Meditation should be done to enjoy the moment (enjoyment from reduced stress at that moment). Any future benefits will come automatically.

Cost: $5

Qi Gong

Qi Gong is a therapeutic form of exercise used in China for centuries. Currently in China it is being used in hospital settings to alleviate chronic illness and create a sense of health and wellness.

Five Dragons Qi Gong

The Dragon as a symbol is the West is terrifying and malevolent. But in the East, particularly in China is a potent symbol of auspicious power; it represented the Emperor or the caretaker of the kingdom. The dragon also represents Spring-time and new vital growth that comes in the Spring.

Qi Gong is an internal Chinese meditative practice, which often uses graceful movements and controlled breathing techniques to promote the circulation of qi (life force or vitality) within the human body, and enhance a practitioner's overall health.

Five Dragons Qi Gong is a form based on Taoist Practice specifically from the Mt. Wudang Dragon Gate style of Qi Gong (Wudang Longmen Pai).

This form strengthens the practioner by increasing muscle tone and works on balancing internal and external aspects of each practioner. You will notice a sense of well being after each practice and renewed vigor to be able to take care of the stresses of your day.

Cost: $90/8 weeks

Five Element Style

The Five Element style is from the Shamanic lineage and incorporates the elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water with a meditation practice and the Qi Gong movement. This style of Qi Gong is deceptively simple and quite powerful. Over the course of regular practice, you will see greater muscle tone, increased sense if calmness and wellbeing from stress, and increase in ability to concentrate and function in your daily life. If you are curious about Qi Gong why don't you come to a class and experience it first hand.

The 14

The Jin Jing Gong (Tendon and Channel/Sinew Qigong) school of Qigong represents a traditional system of nourishing life replete with cosmological teachings, multiple modes of quiet meditation, moving and walking exercises. Its legendary origins go back to the 2nd century monk Bodhidharma, a Buddhist monk from Southern India, who founded the Shaolin monastery and first introduced Buddhism to China. When Manchu invaders established the Qing dynasty at the beginning of the 17th century, fugitive nuns and monks from both Buddhist and Daoist traditions sought refuge on Sichuan's Mt. Emei, where they blended their martial arts and meditation experiences into the integral system now known as Jin Jing Qigong.

"The 14", which looks like yoga, has its origins in Raja yoga which Bodhidharma brought with him from India. What students can look forward to with regular practice is greater muscle tone, increased sense of calmness and wellbeing, and increase in ability to concentrate and function in their daily life. If you are curious about Qi Gong why don't you come to a class and experience it first hand.

We suggest long workout pants and a sexy top. Lisa prefers to wear a low V neck sport top or a tight fitting scoop neck tee. It's important that you can see your curves. You may be a little uncomfortable with this at first, but trust me... you will be happy you slipped on that top that shows off your cleavage. So, no baggy pants and Budweiser tee's allowed!
