Bowenwork, All the Right Moves!

Rosebuds, I finally tried a session with Ramilton Franco, LMT and Certified Bowenwork Practitioner and I am back to tell you all about my experience. If I had any apprehension it was rather on what to expect but my hesitation was fast put to ease, when Ramilton sat down with me to share about his work and his process.  Ramilton likes to connect with his patients, to review their medical history and their concerns and takes the time necessary to answer any question that you may have.  If you have any specific questions or concerns do not hesitate, chances are that he has some specifics moves for them!

The session starts with you lying face down on a massage table head to the side, comfortably dress in tee shirt and yoga pants, or the same type of light clothing. Again, any discomfort is met with a solution; as it is imperative to be comfortable to have the best experience.  Once set and ready to go, you are covered by a sheet, on a warm table and the session starts.  As you may have read in my last blog, Bowenwork is a series of light pressure moves applied at specific points in your body that promote healing on physical, chemical, emotional, mental and energetic levels.  It helps reduce stress in the sympathetic system, decreasing muscle tension, nerve hypersensitivity which allows the feedback loops that control acute pain in the body to stop.  The parasympathetic system is then restored, increasing blood and lymph flow, feeding starved tissue and reducing inflammation.  That is why you can feel shifts in your body during and after a Bowenwork session.

Ramilton applies a series of moves and let’s your body adjust for a few minutes at which times he leaves the room, and the process goes on until competition.  Of course, each session can contain different moves, depending on your issues. My treatment ended with more moves on my right arm, since it was the area of a recent injury. At the end of my session I was extremely relaxed,  as if I had been in a meditation the whole time, and in essence I was…  it certainly  was a time of deep calm and wellness.

So dear Rosebuds, remember Bowenwork is extremely effective in helping with a variety of acute and chronic ailments, including but not limited to back pain, sciatica, neck and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia and other conditions that often do not respond to more conventional approaches. So if you have tried many other approaches to your care and hopes for wellness but without really achieving it, it is time to make the move, the Bowenwork move!

Be wise, be well!
