All of us at one time or another has been touched by the scary word "cancer". My husband had a melanoma removed from his chest 2 years ago; too much sun. And, there are currently 9 people suffering from cancers in a variety of stages at the church where we worship. I attended a memorial service for one this past week. I have no magic wand to wave over the world for healing or peace, but it does bring me to my knees in compassion asking you for help.
At RoseSprings we are committed to creating a place where people can come for healing and community. As part of that mission we also want to give back to the community and have started plans for our Second Annual 'Chair-ity' Event, Nov. 8. (I know you're thinking that it's a long ways off, but from a planning standpoint, it's just around the corner.) This event features chair-themed art that is sold in a silent auction with proceeds going to Community Cancer Renewal Project. You can learn more about them at www.cancer-renewal.org.
As part of the RoseSprings family we're seeking your help. We need the following donations to make this fundraising event a success:
- Chair-themed art. You can look at chairs from 2007.
- Live background music for 2 hours during the evening
- A Barrister with their own equipment to make limited specialty coffees for the evening
- Business Sponsors to donate cash for expenses

I thank you Great Spirit for the gift of another day of life.
I reach out in compassion to my brothers and sisters throughout the universe.
I give to you all that I am and all that I have.

promising to care well for her today.
