Is Your Metabolism on Strike?
Learn more about Me and My Metabolism

Television commercials, internet ads, and popular magazines all are advertising the newest and greatest way for you to boost your metabolism. So how much truth do they tell you? Do they give you information and facts to verify their claims? Perhaps there is some truth to their claims but they didn't mention that the effect is only a small fraction above a placebo. Companies who market the newest and greatest way to boost your metabolism are generally not concerned with educating the masses about the truth of your metabolism but to fleece you of green stuff.
The hype of these newest and greatest ways to boost your metabolism never seem to wane because when one begins to fall from grace a new one comes along to take its place. The same can be said about fad diets. They've been around for years and keep coming back. If these fad diets worked, we as a nation wouldn't be so overweight.
While these companies and their marketing geniuses are getting richer, we as a nation are getting heavier. Today one in every two adult Americans is overweight and one in three is obese compared to approximately one in six in 1976. So what is going on? Did our metabolisms go on strike? Did our lifestyles change? Do we eat too much and exercise too little?
Our metabolisms haven't gone on strike, we have! We are a nation of get-skinny-fast, fad-diets and pills, pre-packaged meals (processed foods), and drive thru fast food. Hurry, hurry don't be late driving to that very important date, so stop and fill up on high fat and low-density-nutritious food.
Misconceptions and myths about our metabolism prevail in our society. There are many factors which affect our metabolism, some of which we can control, and some such as gender, some aspects of aging and hereditary factors, which we cannot. Learning about our metabolism and how our nutrition, eating habits, fitness level, exercise, activities and body composition affect it is the basis for the new class, Me and My Metabolism, which is another component to living an Anti-Inflammatory Lifestyle.
